Why become a member of Bristol24/7?

By Hannah Cornford  Wednesday Nov 28, 2018

We are inviting everyone to join us on our mission to create a Better Bristol.

You can do this by signing up to become a supporter member of Bristol24/7. But why are we asking for your support? And what’s in it for you?

Shape a Better Bristol

Bristol24/7 is a community interest company, which means we reinvest much of the revenue we generate into supporting the local community and furthering our mission to create a Better Bristol.

Independent journalism
is needed now More than ever
Keep our city's journalism independent. Become a supporter member today.

But we can’t do it alone. Better Bristol is about collaboration – coming together to make a positive impact on the community. By joining us you will be part of shaping this mission: from the projects we create to the stories we tell.

We have been listening and looking for new ways to connect people, communities, and businesses to highlight the areas where more needs to be done, and making this happen. We are also working harder to amplify the voices of marginalised communities and make sure their voices are heard.

Support local independent journalism

Made by a small team of humans that really care about Bristol, we have worked hard to become the South West’s leading independent media publication – with half a million readers and a growing community.

We are a magazine, website, online newsletter, social media channels, the first truly independent food guide for the city, an annual festival guide, student guides, a brand-new business publication, Better Business, and we’ve produced programmes for the Bristol Harbour Festival and the International Balloon Fiesta, to name a few of our projects.

Every year we provide work experience for more than 100 budding journalists and support them to go onto a career in media. We are not owned by a large media body and we do this for one audience only: the people of Bristol. Your financial contribution will help keep it this way.

During the Covid-19 crisis the support from our members has allowed us to recruit community reporters, producing hyper-local news from some of Bristol’s most deprived wards, uncovering stories that mainstream media outlets might otherwise miss.

Enjoy exclusive treats

As a thank you for being a supporter member of Bristol24/7 you can opt in to receive a copy of the magazine delivered to your door every month. You will also be able to access exclusive treats from our many friends across Bristol. These include free pints at Bristol Beer Factory bars across the city and discounts to music venues such as St George’s brand-new concert hall.

You’ll also be able to enter exclusive competitions for festival tickets and one-off experiences, and be among the first to hear about exclusive invitation only events. Plus you’ll get access to new features on our website where you’ll be able to login and save your favourite articles for later.

You’ll access all of this through your own private member’s area, where you can manage your membership and redeem your treats.
