Bristol-based social enterprise Catalyse Change are running their empowering ‘Catalyst Bootcamp’ again this summer to help young women to be confident, resilient changemakers.
The course helps teenage girls consider a career in sustainability and deal more effectively with stress and anxiety.
is needed now More than ever
‘Young women have so much potential to offer a world with serious environmental and social challenges.’ says organiser Traci Lewis. ‘Yet in such a rapidly changing world many schools aren’t able to provide enough current information and skills for girls to consider the many career opportunities.’
The event will connect the young women with inspiring mentors, women already working in a diverse range of sustainability sectors and roles. They will run practical sustainability projects to develop the girls’ skills and knowledge. Along with soft skills essential for employability, including; teamwork, problem-solving and clearer communication.
‘Wiith 1 in 3 teenage girls now suffering from depression or anxiety, we will also provide practical tools to help increase their confidence and resilience.’
Dominika who attended last year said; “Since the Bootcamp I have become more organised and calm about my future. Also, I know how to deal with stress and anxiety due to the motivational sessions and I’m not afraid to speak up.”
The 3-day residential will be held Clifton Hill House at Bristol University on 1st – 3rd August for young women aged 14-24 years.
Emilie who also went last year said, “It’s an exciting industry to work in as it’s growing rapidly, and there is so much innovation involved. All the speakers showed you can combine your work with what you are passionate about.”
‘It is an inspiring event and a lot of fun’ said Traci. ‘Do contact me if you are a teenage girl, teacher or parent and want to find out more.’
EARLY BIRD tickets end 31st March.
