James Bracey hit the highest score by a Gloucestershire player in a List A match ever as he carried his bat to finish on 224 not out against Somerset.
Bracey’s record-breaking score helped Gloucestershire to a 198-run victory in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
The records tumbled at the Seat Unique Stadium on Sunday, with Gloucestershire’s 454/3 the highest List A score by any Gloucestershire side in history as well as being the seventh highest List A score of all time, with Bracey’s 224* the 11th highest score in List A cricket anywhere in the world.

“It was a bit surreal,” said Bracey of his record-breaking innings.
“You don’t get many opportunities to hit big scores like that. I’ve never done it before so I’m really happy and really pleased to have made a big contribution to the win.
“It’s nice to be topping some records and to put the team in the top-ten List A scores of all time is pretty impressive as well.”
