Rovers win Women’s Football Business Award
Less than a week after the Gas Girls were celebrating lifting the league cup, they have won another award.
This time, they did not need 90 minutes of effort on the football pitch but a trip to London for the Football Business Awards 2023.
Bristol Rovers Women’s FC beat a number of Premiership clubs to win the Women’s Football Business Award, “created to recognise all the organisations which are making an impact on the growth of women’s football”.

Reformed as a club in 2019, the Gas Girls are an initiative of Bristol Rovers Community Trust with a mission of community, education, participation and performance.
Other winners on the night included Liverpool in the sustainability category; Brighton & Hove Albion for the equality, diversity and inclusion; and UEFA for the best social media team.
Bristol Rovers tweeted: “Brilliant news! To beat the likes of Chelsea, Southampton and Wrexham to the Women’s Football Business Award is an amazing achievement.”
