Celebrations across Bristol as England beat Iran

By Rachel Sutherland  Monday Nov 21, 2022

It was not your average Monday across the nation as England’s first game in the 2022 World Cup kicked off.

Fans poured into pubs and venues around the city to cheer the Three Lions team on to victory, with cheers erupting among the crowds as Gareth Southgate’s team put six goals past Iran.

Football fans in Bristol booked time off work, skipped lectures and took ‘extended lunch breaks’ to catch England’s 6-2 victory.
