City climb into play-off positions with seventh successive win
Bristol City struck with two second-half goals to beat Swansea City at Ashton Gate.
Andreas Weimann’s first goal since August got the Robins up and running just 42 second after the restart, while Callum O’Dowda’s fourth goal of the season completed the 2-0 scoreline.
But despite the win, the match was marred by violence within the ground as supporters clashed.
is needed now More than ever
Lee Johnson’s men have now won each of their last five games in the Championship, for the first time since the double-winning 2014/15 season in League One.
City’s unbeaten run extends to 13 games in all competitions, with this their seventh win in a row in both the league and FA Cup – lifting them to sixth in the Championship on goal difference.
The team travel to face Blackburn Rovers away on February 9; with Shrewsbury Town or Wolverhampton Wanderers visiting Ashton Gate on February 17 in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
