City fans mark start of new football season at Flag Day
Bristol City fans gathered in their hundreds outside the Three Lions pub in Bedminster before kick-off on Saturday to mark the annual Flag Day.
There were almost as many red flares set off this year as flags on display, and plenty of red fedoras on fans’ heads paying tribute to Stoney Garnett, a Robins superfan and former mayoral candidate who recently died.
Flag Day takes place every year coinciding with Bristol City’s first home game of the season, with fans making the short walk from the pub on West Street to Ashton Gate.
