Gas Girls celebrate promotion in style
A hattrick from Laura Curnock and one goal from Zoe Fielden-Stewart gave Bristol Rovers Women’s the victory they needed to win the league.
The Gas Girls now cannot be caught at the top of the South West Regional Women’s League Division One, meaning that next season they will be playing in the fifth tier of English football.
In their third full season, it means back-to-back promotions for the Gas Girls, a team that was relaunched in 2019 with the backing of Bristol Rovers Community Trust.
is needed now More than ever
“I’m so proud of this team,” said Gas Girls manager Nathan Hallett-Young.
“Unbelievable effort from everyone, from the volunteer staff to the squad who’s performed on the pitch. A great achievement for the club and everyone involved…
“I can’t wait to see what this squad can continue to do!”
