Gas Girls to play at Memorial Stadium for first time

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Mar 8, 2022

Bristol Rovers Women’s will play at the Memorial Stadium for the first time in April.

The Gas Girls will be playing at the Mem in a double-header following the men’s team game versus Forest Green Rovers on April 23.

An award-winning initiative of Bristol Rovers Community Trust, the women’s team recently won their second promotion in only their second full season, with their home games usually played at Lockleaze Sports Centre.

Gas Girls co-founder Matt Davies tweeted: “How cool is this!!? Incredible support from @Official_BRFC to help us celebrate #InternationalWomensDay & @HerGameToo. Amazing work, team!! It’s going to be very special to see the @GasGirlsWFC walk out onto The Mem after what was an idea on a notepad 3 years ago.”
