Images of new Ashton Gate revealed
The first artist’s impressions of the new Ashton Gate have been released today.
Images of the proposed new South and West stands were made available, with more images to go on show at the supporter consultation meeting at Ashton Gate next week.
Plans approved by Bristol City Council last year will see the transformation of Ashton Gate into a state-of-the-art 27,000 capacity stadium completed in 2016.
The 86-year-old Wedlock Stand was demolished in the summer and will be completely rebuilt, with new conference facilities, administration offices, sports bar, café and shops. The Dolman Stand will then be redeveloped, before work will then begin to demolish and rebuild the Williams Stand. Alterations to the Atyeo Stand and concourse are also part of the overall plan.
Designers of the revamped stadium have said the work would turn a “relic of bygone era” to a “beacon of growth for the city”.
