Joey Barton set to become Bristol Rovers’ fifth manager in three years
Joy Barton is set to be announced as the new manager of Bristol Rovers following the sacking of Paul Tisdale.
Thirty-eight-year-old Barton will become the fifth manager of the Gas in the last three years.
During his playing career, Barton represented Manchester City, Newcastle United, QPR, Marseille, Burnley and Rangers, as well as winning one cap for England in 2007.
is needed now More than ever
His arrival at the Memorial Stadium will be only his second managerial job, having left Fleetwood Town in January after three seasons in charge of the Cod Army.
His imminent appointment is already controversial with some fans, with Barton’s career marked by ill discipline and violence both on and off the football pitch.
