Match report: Bristol City 1-0 Barnsley

Niclas Eliasson starred in the late show at Ashton Gate, with his 87th-minute goal enough to put City level on points with the top-six chasers.

His strike secured the 1-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday, steering the ball home in front of the South Stand after a strong run and cross from Jay Dasilva.

It was one of those games which, as it progressed, always felt it would be settled by the narrowest of margins with both sides fighting to keep pressure at differing ends of the table.

The Robins and the Tykes even hit the crossbar and missed a host of chances, before Eliasson pounced to the lift City to eighth in the Sky Bet Championship.
