Match report: Bristol City Women 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Kit Graham scored two goals in as many minutes as Spurs came from a goal down to defeat Bristol City Women 2-1 at the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium.
Spurs started the game on the front foot as they bombarded the City box with shots, however important blocks from Loren Dykes and Jas Matthews kept out the Spurs attackers from creating any real chances.
The away side then came close once again 12 minutes in as Ria Percival’s looping cross flew over Baggaley’s head and rattled the far post.

As the game went on City grew confident going forward and came close after 25 minutes, when Olivia Chance picked up the ball on the edge of the box and drove her shot just wide of Spencer’s far post.
Oxtoby’s side got the breakthrough with half-time fast approaching through Abi Harrison, who blasted her effort into the roof of the net from close range. Charlie Wellings nutmegged Lucy Quinn on the right-hand side of the box and her blocked shot fell to Chance whose effort was also blocked by the Spurs defence.
It was third time lucky for the Robins when the ball fell to the feet of Harrison, who made no mistake in putting the ball in the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

Spurs missed a great chance to equalise early in the second half when Furness’ floating cross was met by Graham who directed her header wide from close-range.Spurs’ constant pressure paid off 63 minutes in when Graham more than made up for her earlier miss by powering home the equaliser from 25 yards.
Graham then got her second in as many minutes and gave Spurs the lead as she drove forward from midfield and was given space to shoot, nestling her effort into the bottom corner from a similar distance to her first.
Just two minutes after the second goal Spurs were awarded a controversial penalty when Daniels was penalised for a challenge on Furness. The Northern Ireland international took the penalty, however Baggaley was equal to it, making a brilliant save to her right. It was the ‘keeper’s second penalty save of the season.
The game opened up after the six minutes of madness, however it wasn’t meant to be for City who were unable to find an equalising goal.
