Mural unveiled remembering Bristol City legend Chris Garland
A mural to Bristol City legend Chris Garland has been unveiled just a stone’s throw from Ashton Gate.
The mural was painted on the side of the Coopers Arms pub on Ashton Road in memory of Garland, who died in July at the age of 74.
The Bristol-born striker was one of the Ashton Gate Eight, who in 1982 tore up their contracts to save the club from financial ruin.
is needed now More than ever
Garland made a total of 248 appearances for City, scoring 54 goals and playing for the club in all four divisions.
The mural is part of a project called Art4Fans, who have already secured three other sites close to Ashton Gate where other City legends will be painted.
