A day of free sport for all
The Bristol community is invited to take part in a day of free sport run by Neurokinex, a charitable spinal cord injury rehabilitation facility with a branch in the city.
The inclusive Sport4All event will take place Sunday, June 2 from 10am at UWE Bristol’s centre for sport.
“Our Sport4All event aims to raise awareness and participation in disability sport,” says Edward Baker, centre manager at Neurokinex Bristol. “Knowing that physical activity, fellowship and sport can combat many of these health inequalities, we hope our event will show local people what activities are available to them.”

Try bowls, seated volleyball and more
Both able-bodied and disabled members of the public are invited to try a range of sports, from wheelchair rugby to seated volleyball.
Special guests will also be in attendance. Team GB Paralympian Kylie Grimes, who has recently qualified for the Wheelchair Rugby Team for Tokyo 2020, will be joined by presenter and former captain of the Great Britain wheelchair rugby squad, Steve Brown.
Grimes says: “I have always been active, both when able-bodied and following my spinal cord injury. Inclusive team sport can lift you like nothing else.”
As well as a range of inclusive sports, there will be other family-friendly activities at the event. Experts from Neurokinex and the UWE Bristol will also be present to offer guidance to people seeking sports to suit their different abilities.
