Bristol Girls Surf Club invites women to ride the wave
A women’s surf club is holding a launch event to celebrate its growing community.
Bristol Girls Surf Club has gone from strength to strength since starting as a local Facebook group in 2020.
The club now boasts a community of over 2000 people, and has its sights set on connecting even more women to surf culture and to one another this year.
is needed now More than ever
The team is inviting women in Bristol to join them at an exclusive launch event on September 26 at Bristol Beer Factory in Bedminster to celebrate their recently created website and their new paid membership scheme.

The event will be a chance for women in Bristol to find out more about the club and meet other like-minded people.
The club has grown from a community page to an established club in just a few years, helped by its motto, “making the city and the sea a great place to be.”
They run regular meet-ups, including pub nights, yoga and skate sessions in Bristol and trips down to the coast for surfing and camping.
“Surf culture can be intimidating” said committee member Sophia, “but we’re keen to show people that our club is just as much about forming new friendships and building a local community as it is about catching waves.
“Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or you’ve never surfed before, you’re welcome at the club.”
The launch party will include a raffle to raise money for the Wave Project Bristol, a panel discussion hosted by Matilda, the club’s president, for people to learn more about BGSC and a first look at their new line of merch. Plus, a chance to socialise and have a few drinks together.
Bristol Girls Surf Club is run by a committee of eleven volunteers and all the money raised by the event will be reinvested into the community.
The launch event is taking place on September 26 and starts at 7.30pm, to buy tickets and to learn more about the club head to www.bristolgirlssurfclub.co.uk.
