By Tilly Haines  Thursday Aug 25, 2016

Rookie and BMW PGA Champion Chris Wood has a confirmed place on Darren Clarke’s European Ryder Cup team.

The Bristol born 28-year-old got a spot on the team after qualifying from the European Points list. He made a strong start to the qualification period with four top ten finishes in the first six events including a second place finish at the Portugal Masters and fifth in his next start at the Turkish Airlines Open.

This good form continued into the new season with a third place finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. This was followed by his victory at the BMW PGA Championship.
