“I was inspired by the Bristol Girls Can movement and wanted to get fitter by training for the 10K while also raising funds for the National Caribbean Monument Charity who wish to erect a monument at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire,” Lake told Bristol24/7.

“I haven’t really thought about what time I want to finish it in. But I’m really looking forward to it!”

The university group will start in one mass red wave, wearing matching red t-shirts.
