Runners clock thousands of laps of Queen Square for charity
To paraphrase a line from Parklife by Blur, it’s all about the joggers who go ’round and ’round and ’round and ’round and ’round.
Members of Queen Square Run Club took this to heart when they ran thousands of laps to raise awareness of male suicide while raising money for Movember.
Many runners aimed to complete 60 laps of the Georgian square: the same number of men who die by suicide each hour globally.
is needed now More than ever

Rachel Dinning was one of the 60 runners who took part in the event, running in memory of her good friend Gareth who died by suicide in 2018.
“Mental health is an issue very close to my heart and while I think we are getting a lot better at talking about issues including suicide as a society,” said journalist Rachel, 29, who lives in Totterdown.
“There is still a long way to go in terms of making sure people get the support they need.
“At the run on Saturday, it was lovely to see how many people turned out to support the Queen Square runners and to do some laps for a fantastic cause.”
