World’s first white collar wrestling event returns to Bristol
Rock ‘N Rumble is back and tickets are now on sale now for this Saturday’s event. Don’t miss out on this wacky charity fundraising event at Circomedia in St Paul’s.
Bringing together a highly charged mix of comedy, theatre, music, audience participation and crucially, a full blown wrestling competition, this event brings the best out of a brave group of people bound by a mission to help the people of northern Malawi.
The organisers of the world’s first white collar wrestling event have coined the term ‘Wrestling for Humanity’.
is needed now More than ever
At its heart are the skills of Olympic wrestling coach Saeed Esmaeli, the ideas of David Nettleton and the drive of Jo Hook, founder of their key Bristol charity partner Temwa. Together they generated the concept for this totally original comedy sporting experience.
Rock ‘N’ Rumble Wrestling saw its first show in Circomedia in November 2017 and raised £25,000 for Temwa.
Tickets sold out in four days and it was a truly incredible experience, and Bristol24/7 were there to witness it. Let’s take you there…
First to the stage, giving a spectacular opening performance, are a couple of model tennis players. The pair named ‘Balls Deep’, strut out onto the stage to Holding out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler, strip off their tracksuits, toss them into an adoring crowd of friends and then fire glitter guns from their tennis rackets.

Balls Deep make their entrance
Not to be shown up, Ben and Jeremy, aka The Bone Shakers, drive their Harley Davidson straight out into the crowd. Off they step in their brown leather jackets to a braying crowd of bloodthirsty fans.
These two teams will grapple in a totally original three-minute takedown battle; the culmination of eight weeks of intense training.
So the oldest sport known to the human race is seeing another big revival, this time in Bristol, and the contestants are fighting for humanity.

The Hulk and Jack Sparrow battle it out
This show is hosted by the comedians of Closer Each Day, they will be introducing a few new tricks into the mix and no doubt breeding a new cohort of fans for the ancient sport of wrestling.
