Bristol Bears fans make Premiership predictions
As the new Premiership season is about to kick off, we asked fans what their predictions are for the upcoming season and where they hope Bristol Bears will place.
Here is what they had to say:
Terry Kitchen, 47, a lorry driver from Whitchurch
is needed now More than ever
“I would hope we can make top four, with a few new signings. It is a shame we have lost a few of the players, but let’s hope they do better than last year and we get top four.”
Dean Cogan, 59, a supermarket manager from Whitchurch
“I’m looking forward to it actually because a few changes have been made and certainly the strength of their defence which was the weakness last year. I think we’re going to have a really good season this year.”
Ciara Grimstead, 19, a sports student from Frampton Cotterell
“Hopefully better than last season! Top four I reckon. I think that is definitely a goal we should be achieving.”
Rhys Lewis-Kemble, 16, a student from Spaxton
“I think we’re doing alright. We’ve got a strong front row in the scrum now with Genge joining us this season. I think our back line up is good – it’s nice to see MacGinty. I think he’ll add a bit of depth now with Sheedy’s off with Wales, which hopefully he’ll get some more international experience this year – so I think we will do quite well this season.”
Elspeth Reid, 64, a financial director
“Top of the table. “I’ve got to say that. I’ve got to believe!”
Freya Sinclair, 26, a legal assistant from Westbury-on-Trym
“Hopefully better than last year because last year was very inconsistent. So more consistency I think. But good consistency!”
Lee Casman, 36, a premises coordinator from Burnham-on-Sea
“My prediction is fourth – simple as that. I think we’ll do better than last season, ut a bit more effort in hopefully. But to get top-three I would be surprised. Fourth is what I’m hoping for.”
Rebecca Lengfeld, 17, a student from Kingswood
“I hope we finish top-three. Hopefully we win it this season. Hopefully we’ll go high in Europe as well.”
