England’s Rugby World Cup squad unveiled in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Aug 14, 2019

Rugby fans got the chance to get up close and personal with England players at a special event at Lloyds Amphitheatre.

Wear the Rose Live, organised by England sponsors O2, saw the 31-man squad introduced on stage before the players and coaches mingled with fans.

England head coach Eddie Jones and captain Owen Farrell both thanked the crowds, who also had the opportunity to play fairground-style games to win England merchandise.

A touch rugby competition took place throughout the day, and England legend Johnny Wilkinson helped give playing tips to some lucky players.

Once the players had been introduced on the stage by Vernon Kay, fans were able to meet them, pose for photos and get their autographs.

The Rugby World Cup 2019 kicks off in Japan on September 20, with England playing France, Argentina, Tonga and the USA in Pool C.
