Match report: Firwood Waterloo 0-36 Bristol Bears Women

By Bristol24/7  Saturday Oct 5, 2019

Kim Oliver’s side travelled to the North West in search of successive wins after an emphatic victory over Loughborough Lightning and the Bears got off to the perfect start when Lucy Attwood crossed the whitewash to give the West Country side the lead with Snowsill adding the extras.

The Bears doubled their lead later in the half when Hughes – making her first appearance of the 2019/20 campaign – crossed in the corner.

Before the half was up Oliver’s side had their third with Sarah Bern powering over the line for her third try in two games to give the Bears a 19-0 lead going into the half-time break.

The bonus-point was sealed in the opening stages of the second period with fly-half Elinor Snowsill getting over the line after a period of sustained pressure.

Attwood grabbed her second try of the afternoon, before Amy Coles scored on her TP15s debut to stretch the Bears’ lead out to 36-0 with the visitor’s resolute defence keeping Firwood Waterloo from getting a point on the board throughout the 80 minutes.
