UWE Bristol graduates to feature at Affordable Art Fair
Six graduates from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) will see their work feature at this year’s Affordable Art Fair. Hosted at Brunel’s Old Station, the Affordable Art Fair is one of the UK’S leading art events, showcasing contemporary work from over 500 artists.
The work was carefully handpicked by fair director Sam Gare, who was conscious to choose several pieces across a range of disciplines, ranging from photography to installation.
“At the Affordable Art Fair, we pride ourselves on supporting emerging talent and we couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with UWE Bristol to showcase, and sell, talented graduate work at the fair this September.”
is needed now More than ever
Showcasing work from emerging artists is the perfect opportunity for the graduates to gain valuable exposure. Head of the school of art and design at UWE Bristol, Karen Lewis, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the Affordable Art Fair as the organisation works across international markets; and exhibiting can open doors that help boost artists’ careers.
“Making it in the art world means becoming skilled at networking and shrewd at presenting and selling your work to gallery owners. As so many galleries take stands and serious buyers attend the Affordable Art Fair, our selected graduates have a wonderful chance to make connections and to get their work noticed by the right audience.”
The fair will feature photography, sculpture, installation and painting, featuring work from sculptor Alice Vaughan, photographer Josephine Atkinson, painter Natalie Savage, oil painter Stuart Cranfield, sculptor Connor Lowe and textile artist Laura Collins (artwork pictured above).
The Affordable Art Fair is at Brunel’s Old Station from Friday September 8 until Sunday September 10. For more information, visit www.affordableartfair.com/fairs/bristol
