Bristol24/7 Student Guide 2021/22

Firstly, a huge welcome to this buzzing and vibrant city from myself and all of the team at Bristol24/7. I hope your moving in went smoothly and that all the box-carrying, bag-unpacking and last-minute-buying wasn’t overly stressful.

Whether Bristol is an entirely new city for you, somewhere you’ve perhaps perused before or a place you know like the back of your hand; in whatever state of knowledge and understanding you’re arriving in, I wish you the very warmest of hellos.

I hope wholeheartedly that this year remains restriction free; that you are able to experience the earth-shattering joy of hearing a perfect double drop while squished in a sardine-like manner between hundreds of your closest fellow club-goers; that you will know what it is like to suddenly open your eyes in panic having realised that you dozed off in the middle of a lecture hall and missed half of an (exceedingly riveting) lecture; and, most sincerely, I hope that when you go home for the winter holidays you will be able to hug your nearest and dearest tightly without fear or worry or second thought.

This guide has been designed with all these crucial student experiences in mind. From ways to bond with flatmates you are yet to figure out, to that sparky first date at a groovy bar with that person you couldn’t stop making eye contact with at your friend’s house party, to the best venues to see the coolest new indie bands live.

I’m pretty sure we’ve got you covered.

Whether you are new to Bristol as a fresher, or perhaps a second or third year who due to circumstance hasn’t had a chance yet to get to grips with everything the city has to offer, this guide contains a little bit of something for everyone.

So, may you read and learn – there is almost definitely no more comprehensive handbook to your time in this weird, wonderful and wacky city.
