Veritable vegan and vegetarian hotspots
Brunch at East Village Cafe – Boyce’s Avenue, Clifton, BS8 4AA
The parents are coming to stay, you want to show off Bristol’s vegan scene. Dad isn’t so sure on the whole ‘vegan’ thing… Trust me, a bite of an almond croissant in East Village Cafe will be sure to sway him. Situated in Clifton alongside a lovely gift shop, this plant-based cafe provides a perfect pit stop for a delicious pick-me-up.

Lunch at 404 Not Found – 19-20 Perry Road, BS1 5BG
This corner cafe at the bottom of St Michael’s Hill is perfect for a lunch break like no other. For me, veggie/vegan sandwiches all too often are lacklustre. After tasting these plant-based delectables (I had the banh mi roll last time I was here) you will never return to the mediocrity of other meat-free sandwiches. Juicy vegan brisket and crunchy slaw, this roll really meets all sarnie needs. Trust me, it’s worth the heavy breathing back up the hill! (The vegan cakes also look and taste AMAZING.)

Burgers at Three Brothers – Welsh Back, BS1 4SB
With a veggie menu as extensive as their meaty, Three Brothers provides a perfect spot to satisfy your burger craving. Situated on a converted barge just along the water from the Apple, your taste buds are sure to explode whilst you tuck into the buttermilk ‘chicken’ smoky BBQ burger, perhaps thinking of the pint of cider you will have next door for dessert.

Tacos at Cargo Cantina – Cargo 2, Wapping Wharf, BS1 6ZA
For an evening to remember, head down to Wapping Wharf, one of Bristol’s most sought-after dining spots. Mention-worthy veggie Mexican food can be hard to come by, but take a trip to Cargo Cantina and you won’t stop talking about it. To start, munch some crisp nachos alongside spicy homemade salsas whilst sipping on an authentic margarita. Move onto a vegetarian taco sharing feast accompanied by papas al horno – the most sensational cheesy potatoes to roll this earth. The view of the harbour and atmosphere of Wapping Wharf
truly elevates this eating experience.

Pizza at Purezza – 79-81 Gloucester Road, Bishopston, BS7 8AS
Fancy a pizza? Fed up of below average vegan mozzarella lacking stringy goodness? Take a stroll over to Gloucester Road and you will not be disappointed by the top tier, plant-based pizza served at Purezza, the UK’s first fully vegan pizzeria. Offering a whole range of vegan pizzas, say goodbye to opting for the only option, you can finally make your own decision!.
