Alternative spaces to study in Bristol
We all have our moments, some of us more than most, where we struggle to knuckle down to our studies. The university library may seem like a logical choice, but it is not always the best place to be productive and often you find yourself unable to find a spot to sit. Here is a curated list of alternative study spaces around Bristol to help get you focused.
Arnolfini, 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol, BS1 4QA, www.arnolfini.org.uk
The Arnolfini is situated along the scenic Harbourside meaning that study breaks can be enjoyed watching the boats coming in and out of the harbour. It is a bit further out for those living around the UWE Bristol campuses, but its central location means there are plenty of transport routes to and fro.

Okay, it’s a library but hear me out. This has to be one of the most beautiful spots to study in the city. This is the place to be if you need complete silence for your study. The upstairs reading room is where you’ll find final year students fixated on their dissertations.
Boston Tea Party, Cheswick Village, Gloucester Road, Park St, Princess Victoria Street, Cheltenham Road, Whiteladies Road, www.bostonteaparty.co.uk
With six locations across the city, this coffee shop is a runaway favourite with students. It is best to set yourself up early to ensure you get a table as they canget quite busy around lunchtime.
At The Well, 145 Cheltenham Road, Bristol, BS6 5RR, www.at-the-well.co.uk
This cafe-cum-laundrette is a very Bristol affair and allows for some serious multitasking. With free Wi-Fi available, you can settle down to some hard work and throw a wash on whilst you work. They also have a scanner in case you need to utilise one. The music is soft and low volume, making it the perfect place to work.

Society Cafe, Farr’s Lane, Narrow Quay, Bristol, BS1 4QA, www.society-cafe.co.uk
A multitude of plug sockets inside Society means that laptops can be charged as you work and enjoy some coffee. Its simple Scandinavian style makes for a calming environment without too many distractions to get some work done.
