Bristol University hosts Witchcraft and Wizardry event

Arts, Humanities and PHD Students at the University of Bristol invited the public to take part in magical taster classes at the Wills Memorial Building to launch Healthy City Week.

The event included classes such as wand making and spell craft for beginners which highlighted research within the University’s South West Doctoral Training Partnership.

Healthy City Week, run by Bristol Green Capital Partnership, aims to promote exploring health and suitability options in Bristol by tackling issues such as air pollution to create healthier living spaces.

The University of Bristol’s Elizabeth Blackwell Institute hosted the event as part of a Fun Palaces weekend, which is a global campaign to promote culture where local communities run arts, sports and science activities.

The event has taken place in Bristol since 2014, held on the first weekend in October, and activities this year included customising YoBikes, portrait-making on a moving train and covering a Bristol Ferry in pom-poms.
