Students strip off for Bristol University naked calendar 2019

By Bristol24/7  Friday Dec 28, 2018

Strategically placed shuttlecocks, helmets and frisbees protect the modesty of University of Bristol students who stripped off for their annual charity naked calendar.

The calendar, an annual tradition from Bristol Students Union, is on sale now raising money for three charities: Bristol Nightline, there for people to talk to when they might feel alone; Womankind, who help women feel empowered and offer therapy and advice for all; and the CATS Campaign, whose goal is to educate young people on the signs and symptoms of cancer.

Photographs of students from 12 different university societies were taken by Bryan Wong.

Bristol RAG events officer Paige Taylor estimates that so far more than £700 has been raised for the charities.

She said: “We aim to raise as much as possible over the year and right now we have nearly sold out of our first run of calendars which equates to a good run of money for the charities.

“We’d like to order another run ready for the new year.”

Locations for the calendar include the Victoria Rooms, Wills Memorial library and the Downs, with the Snowsport society stripping down to just their ski boots at Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre.

One member of Snowsports told Epigram that the experience was “liberating”, but said that it “crossed boundaries of friendship that I didn’t think were there”.
