£99 flights to America from Bristol launched
One-way tickets to North America from Bristol Airport will go for as little as £99 as of next year, through new routes from a low-cost airline.
Icelandic company Wow Air is offering flights to Washington, Boston, Toronto and Montreal from £99 with a stop-over in Reykjavik, beginning on May 13, 2016.
More flights to San Francisco and Los Angeles are due to follow in June, with tickets on sale from January.
Flights are limited to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when planes leave Bristol for the Icelandic capital. Travel time to North America is around six hours including the transfer.
Return flights are priced higher, but are currently available for close to £150. Prices don’t include taxes, booking fees or check-in luggage.
Skúli Mogensen, founder of Wow, said: “Bringing our ultra-low-cost transatlantic model to Bristol will make flying to the US and Canada much easier for those in the South West and Wales.”
Flights are on sale from www.wowair.co.uk.
