Art
Impermanence
The Arts in Medicine fifth Annual Exhibition is a showcase of Medical, Dental, Veterinary and Health Sciences students’ artwork relating to themes of healthcare, life, death, health and illness.
“Each year the planning committee receive a wealth of unique pieces of artwork produced by students in a range of different mediums and even varying art forms, including in the past, poetry and music as well as drawing, painting and sculpture. Prizes are awarded to the best pieces, judged by a panel of artists and healthcare professionals.
“The arts are an essential form of self-expression and maintaining well-being; students working in the healthcare setting can encounter some challenging emotional themes, and the arts can be a way of processing and expressing the emotional aspects of these experiences.
is needed now More than ever
“Impermanence promises to be a fantastic exhibition, appealing to all audiences whether old, young, fellow student or just curious members of the public, we all have experiences of health and illness.
“Come along to Centrespace to view some thought-provoking pieces produced with astonishing skill, thoughtfulness and artistry.”
The exhibition is organised annually by a committee of current Medical students and the North Bristol Teaching Academy based in Southmead Hospital.
