Collaborative Painting UK
Collaborative Painting UK (CPUK) exhibits ten new artworks at this free event at the RWA’s Cube Gallery.
The paintings were made during summer 2018 at the RWA during collaborative painting workshops.
Artists worked in groups of four, in silence for three hours without any prior discussion or agreed subject matter.
is needed now More than ever
CPUK is the brainchild of Bristol-based artist and educator Luke Palmer. Since setting up the not-for-profit venture, Luke has worked with a number of graffiti and street artists, RWA network artists, and emerging local artists from Bristol and the south-west including 3Dom, Aspire, Bea Kayani, Bex Glover, Duncan McKeller, Epok, Gina Love, Graham ‘Paris’ Dews, Jody Thomas, Dicy and Ziml.
All proceeds generated by a Fundsurfer campaign running alongside the exhibition will be used to fund Collaborative Painting UK’s next event, where artists, community groups and families will be invited to create collaborative paintings at Kosar Contemporary gallery in Bedminster in April 2019.
“When I discovered Tunisian Collaborative Painting I immediately saw its potential as a creative way to bring people together,” says Luke. “It has been a wonderfully surreal experience working with 36 artists in complete silence, and I’m really looking forward to displaying all ten of the artworks together.”
