Nina Beier

Date: Saturday, Jul 21 2018 - Thursday, Aug 16 2018
Venue: Spike Island
Artists
Nina Beier

Danish artist Nina Beier excavates the strong signifying potential of objects. She combines readymade objects that have particular functions or social histories – such as wigs, hand-woven Wagireh rugs or mechanical bulls – to question the ways in which value is defined, mutated and reinforced.

For this solo exhibition, Beier convenes a series of sculptures and gestures that trouble the relationships between our hybrid physical and digital reality.
