“Kopfkino: A word that has no literal translation other than a reference to the act of playing out an entire scenario in your mind.

“The tension within this ambiguity holds the works of five artists with diverse art practices. During the exhibition, St Paul’s Crypt will become the playground for the viewer’s imagination to run riot.

“This contemporary exhibition will showcase artworks that invite the viewer to scrutinise their perception, bringing into question the nature of memory, identity and the spectacle.

“It will feature works by Helen Acklam, Jason Brown, Zarabéa Esfendiar Kayani, Lisa Scantlebury and John Steed.

Created and curated by Bristol-based artist-led initiative The Artist Project Space (TAPS), a place for critical dialogue, peer support and collaboration between contemporary artists.

Sat 7-Wed 11, The Crypt, St Paul’s Church, Southville, BS3 1DG, 11am-5pm. Opening event Fri 6, 7-10pm.
