“I was looking for a phrase that linked the ‘everywhere’ with ‘here’.
I tried ‘Earth Street’ implying the world in a single place and looked to see how it translated across languages. I wrote it in Urdu script to get feedback from a friend.
“My calligraphy was incorrect but unintentionally on point. It became the driving force and the working title for this new collection of works: No Earth Beneath My Feet.”
Preview Friday 8, 6-10pm. Exhibition open Sat & Sun 11am-5.30pm/Mon-Wed 12-6.30pm.
