Humans of Hanham
Immersive exhibition of photography and sound by young people at Hanham Youth Club, working with photographer Colin Moody and emerging young artist Nick Fogarty.
The exhibition also highlights that, in a time when space for young people to have fun and be safe is becoming more and more scarce, Hanham Youth Club is a crucial space where young people build their community and find their voice.
From club nights, which see the place come to life with music and light shows, to activities and discussions about mental health and overcoming loneliness, Hanham Youth Club is the home of South Gloucestershire’s youth community. Over 400 young people come through its doors every week and no two nights are the same.
is needed now More than ever
Despite this success, Creative Youth Network struggles to fundraise for the costs of maintaining the building. It costs over £40,000 every year to create and staff this safe, welcoming and supportive space for young people. But every year we have a gap of about £10,000 in our income which is for the mundane, but essential bits, without which it’s impossible to run any home, office or club.
