Carnival Pop-Up
A group of photographers led by Matt Stuart, Lua Ribeira and Martin Parr will be on the streets of Bristol photographing St Pauls Carnival on Saturday 6 July.
The following week an exhibition of their work will open at Arnolfini. The photographs will be processed and printed in a pop-up studio in the Arnolfini galleries.
The pop-up studio will be open to the public. Visitors will have the opportunity to spot themselves in the images, as well as see the process of turning digital files into photographs and an installed exhibition.
is needed now More than ever
Throughout the course of the week the exhibition will evolve each day, before the final selection and installation is unveiled at the opening party on Friday, July 12, just six days after Carnival.
The opening party will feature live music, costumes and dancing, promising to take us back to Carnival.
Carnivalgoers have the chance to be part of the show by tagging images taken during St Pauls Carnival celebrations with #CarnivalPopUp19 on Instagram.
The exhibition then continues at Arnolfini until Aug 11.
Collaboration between Arnolfini, Martin Parr Foundation and St Pauls Carnival.
