Summer After Hours Event
Experience the RWA galleries after hours with drinks and three separate exhibitions to explore.
Discover the RWA’s major exhibition Fire: Flashes to Ashes in British Art 1692-2019, which brings together a number of important historic, modern and contemporary artworks on the theme of fire. Enjoy a wide variety of works by influential contemporary artists such as Tim Shaw RA RWA Hon, Cornelia Parker OBE RA, Susan Hiller, Anthony McCall and David Nash RA, as well as historical works by J. M. W. Turner RA, Joseph Wright of Derby ARA, John Martin and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham CBE RWA Hon (to name but a few!)
Don’t forget to visit Andrew Lanyon’s Nature’s Laboratory, a playful but sometimes dark look at our world and creation. Finally, explore colourful and textured artworks in Peter Ford RE RWA: Out of Order. Peter Ford is a printmaker and paper-maker who has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally.

Once you’ve taken in all the works, why not relax on the RWA’s beautiful marble landing and balcony, where you can enjoy a glass of bubbly and soak up the evening sun.
The RWA Shop will also be open on the night, offering limited editions prints, books, artists’ materials, stationery and gifts for art lovers.
Visitors will receive a drinks token on arrival. There will also be a cash bar.
Aug 15, 6-8pm, £8/£5 concs. Price includes a free glass of bubbles or a soft drink on arrival.
