Special guest at the monthly writers’ gathering is celebrated author and Creative Writing academic, Mimi Thebo, who will discuss writing memoir and autobiography. Hospital High, her latest novel for young adults, is based on her experience of a traumatic teen car accident and lengthy hospitalisation and recovery.
Mimi Thebo is a Carnegie-nominated author for children and adults. Her work has been translated into 12 languages, made into a BAFTA award-winning film by the BBC and signed for deaf children by ITV. She was born in the USA, and has lived in the UK for many years. She is Reader in Creative Writing at the University of Bristol and is designing a new MA in Creative Writing for the University.
Three reading slots are available. Those wishing to read an extract from a novel should submit before January 31st to be considered. Please read the submission guidelines before submitting.
