Cheltenham Literature Festival 2017
Bristol writers are playing a significant role in the 2017 Cheltenham Literature Festival. This year’s 10 day jamboree will be the 68th edition of what is the longest-running festival of its kind in the world.
Bristol-based writer Nikesh Shukla, who is also editor of Rife Magazine based at Watershed, is a Guest Director of the festival and has brought acts, voices and people you wouldn’t normally expect to the event.
Multi-slam champion Vanessa Kisuule returns to the festival to perform new work including excerpts from her Bristol Old Vic produced show, Sexy. The Bristol-based poet will be joined by Malaika Kegode, founder of Bristol’s Milk Poetry events, whose debut poetry collection Requite has just been published by Bristol-based Burning Eye Books.
