Novel Nights: Susanna Wadeson
Special guest at the monthly writers’ gathering is Transworld Publishing Director, Susanna Wadeson.
She will advise aspiring authors of fiction and non-fiction on how to make their books stand out from the crowd, and provide a concise guide so authors can ensure their idea is marketable and their manuscript is at its absolute optimum.
Susanna is Publishing Director at Transworld where she publishes mostly non-fiction titles. She has published Prof Stephen Hawking and Richard Dawkins and is about to oversee the launch of Bill Bryson’s new book The Body: A Guide For Occupants. She also publishes some fiction, including Rachel Joyce’s international bestseller The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
is needed now More than ever
Susanna will explore this topic with Michael Odell, the author of Rock Bottom: A Music Writer’s Journey Into Madness about the twenty years he spent meeting the world’s biggest rock stars. Michael is a regular contributor to the Times.
Transworld have been awarded Publisher of the Year at the British Book Awards four times.
They say: “We love to turn authors into brand names from Dan Brown to Lee Child to Sophie Kinsella. We are always excited about building debut fiction bestsellers like The Girl on the Train and The Couple Next Door and we are proud to publish the works of literary greats such as Kate Atkinson, Donal Ryan and Curtis Sittenfeld.
In non-fiction our strategy is to publish the best in any area. Rather than build specialist lists, we publish expert voices and great storytellers, from global bestselling names such as Bill Bryson, Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawking to Hannah Fry and Chloe Madeley.”
A writers’ showcase will feature readings from three up-and-coming writers at this event. To submit work to read at this event, visit https://www.novelnights.co.uk/submissions/
