Headline act at this month’s poetry slam is Bristol-based poet, Aiysha Humphries.
Hosted by Bristol poet, Callum Wensley, “Craftwords is a night that hopes to give safe space to fledged and fledgling poets alike. We want to hear your works in progress, your old favourites, and heck if you want to cover a poem you really like then you can do that too! It’s a night for words and the people that love them.”
Ten five-minute open mic slots are available on the door. Those interested in performing should arrive early.

Aiysha Humphries is a Bristol- based poet and spoken word performer, originally from Cornwall. Their poetry deals with the difficult topics of mental illness, love, trauma, queer identity and home. They exude an enchanting calmness in the delivery of their poetry that contrasts the harrowing nature of what they write about. Aiysha’s work may leave you shell shocked, but you’ll be warmed by their charming personality and self-deprecating sense of humour. They have performed Shindig Festival and The Great Estate Festival and competed in the Milk Poetry Grand Slam, qualified for the Lyra Festival Slam final and the Hammer & Tongue national finals.
