Melanie Branton (pictured) has performed the length and breadth of the country, including multiple appearances at Womad, Hammer and Tongue and Raise The Bar and represented Bristol in two national slams. Her collections are Can You See Where I’m Coming From? (Burning Eye, 2018) and My Cloth- Eared Heart (Oversteps, 2017) and her work has appeared in journals including Bare Fiction, Prole, Obsessed With Pipework, The Frogmore Papers and Atrium.

Kat Lyons is a Bristol-based spoken-word artist and performance storyteller. As a queer feminist poet, her creativity is entwined and critically engaged with the political landscape, and seeks to turn a spotlight on the complexity of the mundane, and the power and beauty of everyday experiences. Kat won the 2017 Bristol Storyfest Story Slam, was a regional finalist in the 2018 Hammer and Tongue slam, and is currently working with spoken word promoter Raise the Bar. She sees spoken word performance as the original DIY entertainment, and believe it has the power to engage all ages and demographics in creatively interpreting their experiences. She believes that poetry is relevant to everyone, and that everyone has a story to tell, and a voice worth hearing.
