Milk Poetry – Deanna Rodger and Rob Carnie
- Artists
- Rob Carnie, Deanna Rodger
Milk present a top notch bill of great performance poets with headliners Deanna Rodger and Rob Carnie joined by the winner of last month’s Milk slam, Edward Day.
Deanna Rodger has been integral to the progression of performance poetry and spoken word in the U.K, especially in London where she has made a name for herself as part of poetry collectives Keats House Poetry Forum and Point Blank Poets and popular poetry events Chill Pill and Come Rhyme With Me. She currently writes for the Young Vic and was named one of ‘30 most inspirational women under 30’ by ELLE UK. Her book I Did It Too is out now with Bristol-based Burning Eye.
is needed now More than ever
Rob Carnie draws upon the folkloric, often delving into the lives of people and place. His writing and recitals have taken him far and wide, from creative gatherings with the Woodland Trust, to campfires at festivals and the corners of poorly lit pubs.
Slammers battle it out to win a milk bottle trophy, a Winner’s Badge and a ten minute slot at the next Milk! To sign up, just comment on the event facebook page. You’ll need 2 poems for up to 2 rounds (3 minutes per round).
