Novel Nights: Sharmaine Lovegrove
Special guest at the monthly writers’ gathering is ground-breaking head of Dialogue Books, Sharmaine Lovegrove.
She will discuss many aspects of the publishing industry including the path to publishing, how to find an agent, how to submit fiction and non-fiction and how to manage your expectations as a writer.
“Come along with your questions about any part of the publishing process and find out what stories make a good fit for Dialogue Books.”
is needed now More than ever
Sharmaine is head of Dialogue Books, an imprint of Little Brown which publish stories from voices often excluded from the mainstream. She has worked in publishing all her life, selling books on a London market stall and an English-language bookshop in Berlin. She founded a literary scouting company, was the literary editor at Elle and now spearheads Dialogue Books.
Dialogue Books shines a spotlight on stories for, about and by readers from the LGBTQI+, disability, working class and BAME communities. The imprint has a clear focus of distinctive, cross-genre titles that spark a conversation across fiction, non-fiction, commercial and literary publishing.
A writers’ showcase will feature readings from three up-and-coming writers at this event. To submit work to read at this event, visit https://www.novelnights.co.uk/submissions/
