Rosie Wilby – Is Monogamy Dead?

- Rosie Wilby
Comedian, writer and broadcaster Rosie Wilby presents some of the surprising results of a survey she conducted as research for an Edinburgh Fringe show, Is Monogamy Dead?, which became her first book.
She reveals how diverse our definitions of infidelity are and introduces ideas around emotional monogamy, suggesting that we’re all a bit more polyamorous than we admit. She calls for more language, such as the term ‘love affair friendship’, to describe the huge variety of connections that we experience and looks at the insights we gain about male and female behaviours by observing lesbians and gay men.
Rosie Wilby has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, Summer Nights, Four Thought, Midweek, The Human Zoo and Woman’s Hour and at festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Green Man, Larmer Tree and Latitude. She was a finalist at Funny Women 2006 and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2007 and she’s been touring award-winning solo shows and steadily building a word-of-mouth army of fans ever since.
