Ayobami Adebayo
Shortlisted for the 2017 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, Ayobami Adebayo ‘s Stay with Me is set against the backdrop of 1980s Nigerian social and political upheaval. It follows Yejide’s heroic quest for a child and the dramatic consequences of familial and social pressure.
Ayobami Adebayo was born in Lagos in 1988. Her short fiction has appeared in magazines and anthologies including the Weaverbird Collection, Lawino Magazine and East Jasmine Review. She has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia and is fiction editor for Saraba magazine. Stay with Me is her first novel.
