If you know Kornél Kovács by his erstwhile nicknames – “Stockholm’s youngest former jungle DJ” – you’ll have to check the album cover twice once you get an earwig of his current productions. Luminescent and ambient, they’re examples of critically acclaimed soundscapes that provoke sentiment, warmth and heart – something that can sometimes be lacking in dance tracks (although they’re not all fit for that purpose).
Flying in from his native land of meatballs with gravy and ABBA, Kovács promises to bring an immaculate selection of crate-digging gems that have garnered him a reputation as an otherworldly producer and DJ. He plays an extended set on Thekla’s bottom deck.
