Bubble Comedy: Catherine Bohart/Desiree Burch

Date: Wednesday, May 17 2017
Time: 7:30pm
Venue: Cafe Kino

Bubble Comedy moves to Cafe Kino for a one-off spectacular featuring two rising stars.

Desiree Burch: Raised in L.A., developed artistically in NY and currently resides in London. Her brash and energetic comedy style has been seen on NBC and E4, and made her the winner of the 2015 Funny Women Stage Award for stand-up. As a writer and performer, she makes raw and gutsy work. Her critically-acclaimed solo show 52 Man Pickup has toured internationally and her solo piece Tar Baby won a 2015 Fringe First for new writing at the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe.
In 2015 Burch, “a larger than life New Yorker… who brought the roof down” (The Independent) won the Funny Women stage award for stand-up comedy. On screen, she’s been featured on E4’s World’s Greatest Bodyshockers and NBC’s Before the Morning After.

Catherine Bohart: Catherine started performing stand-up in 2015 and since then has enjoyed a rapid rise . In 2016, she was a finalist in both the BBC New Comedy Awards and Funny Women, drawing praise in the final of the former for having “a distinctive voice and a story you’d like to hear” (Chortle) and in the latter for being “pretty much the perfect comedy package” (Beyond The Joke).

Supported by Robin Allender, David Hoare and with Jo Duncan as MC.
