Nicole Kirkland is a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor based in Los Angeles, California. Her choreography talent is apparent in both community and industry dance. On the industry side, Nicole has choreographed for Prince, Ceelo Green, K. Michelle, Kehlani, Tayla Parx, Paloma Ford, Liv Warfield, 3rdEyeGirl, Iakopo, Judith Hill, Jairemie Alexander and E40. On the community side, Nicole choreographs for world-renowned hip hop companies GRV, Gravy Babies and immaBEAST. She also travels both nationally and internationally, teaching classes and setting pieces for studios and school dance teams.
Nicole’s diverse style of choreography stems from her extensive training background. She can teach anything from jazz funk and heels, to urban and pop styled hip hop. Nicole focuses on character. She stresses the importance of performance and creating a story, no matter the style of movement. She teaches her students to not just “act” like a character they are portraying, but to actually “be” the character. Nicole believes in teaching her students something new every time they take her class so they leave feeling inspired.
